Like Alashankou and Horgos, the Buektu Port is one of China's first-class ports. It can import special products such as grain, meat and vegetables.
The port of Buketu is located in Tacheng, Xinjiang. The city of Tacheng is an important node of the Silk Road Economic Zone. The port of Buketu has a long history and has been in business for more than 250 years.
The Buketu Port has a state-level border economic cooperation zone (development and opening experimental area) and a "green passage" for rapid customs clearance of agricultural products. It imports wheat from Central Asia and designated ports for importing grain and meat. It implements a "three-day visa-free" border market for Kazakh citizens. The port has distinct characteristics of import and export goods, mechanical and electrical products and fruits. Vegetables are the main import and export goods. More than 52% of Xinjiang's vegetable exports are concentrated at the Buketu port.
Border People's Mutual Trade
Frontier trade refers to the commodity exchange activities carried out by frontier people in frontier areas within 20 kilometers of our land border at open points or designated fairs approved by the government and within the prescribed amount or quantity. The list covers more than 1400 items.
The daily necessities imported by border people through mutual trade (except those listed in the list of non-exemption for imports of border people's mutual market), whose daily value is less than RMB 8000 yuan per person, are exempted from import tariffs and import link taxes. If the amount exceeds RMB 8000, import tariffs and link taxes shall be levied on the excess part in accordance with the regulations. Landing processing enterprises may enjoy the policy of importing products in the form of Frontier groups (more than RMB 8000 may be used in combination by multiple people).
